Our Instructors

Eda Kachiri began her dance journey in 2006 with her high school dance team, where a curiosity for movement quickly grew into a passion. After exploring jazz, modern, and hip-hop, she found her true calling in Latin dance and went on to train at a highly regarded studio in Minneapolis. In 2010, she completed instructor training at Social Dance Studio under Joy Davina and has since taught, coached, directed, and performed nationally and internationally, earning recognition as a respected artist in the dance community.

In May 2021, Eda opened Yirii Dance Studio, a welcoming space where dancers of all backgrounds can explore movement, culture, and connection. She now leads a full schedule of Latin dance classes for adults and youth while directing multiple performance teams throughout Minneapolis. Through teaching, performing, and sharing the history behind the dance, Eda’s mission is to inspire others to pursue their passions, challenge themselves, and experience the joy of movement.

Known for her strong technique, musicality, and dynamic presence, Eda views dance as storytelling, cultural expression, and connection. In 2021, she founded Yirii Dance Company, where she now focuses on directing and coaching performance and Pro/Am teams, empowering dancers to honor the culture, grow as artists, and push their limits on and off the dance floor.
